Point Ellice House Museum & Gardens
Point Ellice House is a beacon of heritage preservation and cross-cultural understanding.
It is one of Victoria’s oldest residences, constructed between 1861 and 1862 housing Canada’s largest Victorian collection. The heritage house, expansive gardens, nature trails and waterfront location has made it a great stop when visiting the island.
Today is serves as a focal point for understanding the cultural intersections and exchanges that shaped the region, highlighting the significant contributions of First Nations and Métis communities to its development. The hope is to develop a deeper understanding of the complex relationships and cultural exchanges that shaped British Columbia’s past.
