China Beach

12287 Hwy 14 Juan de Fuca BC .

China Beach day-use area and China Beach Campground are two of four main areas that make up Juan de Fuca Provincial Park on the west coast of southern Vancouver Island (the other two being the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail and Botanical Beach). The park offers scenic beauty, spectacular hiking, marine and wildlife viewing and roaring surf in its course along the Pacific coastline of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. China Beach is a spectacular spot for family outings and day trips.

A short walk from the parking lot leads you through the lush coastal rainforest down to the waterfront. Once there, hike the sprawling sand beach and see if you can find the hidden waterfall.

The China Beach campground is a separate facility, located in a forested area with open understory just east of the China Beach day-use area and Juan de Fuca East trailhead.

Remember this remote beach is located in bear country. Keep food secured and do not feed the wildlife. Pack the 11 essentials for hiking. Cell phone reception is limited in this region.

Keep Juan De Fuca Provincial Park pristine for generations to come. Pack out anything you bring into the park.
