Just a 1.75 hour scenic drive from Victoria on Highway #14, Port Renfrew is roughly halfway along the spectacular and fully paved Pacific Marine Circle Route, featuring several coastal Provincial Parks, the surfing beaches of Jordan River and Sombrio and majestic west coast forests.
While the town is the jumping off spot for two world renowned multi-day hikes – the West Coast and Juan de Fuca trails – it also offers a multitude of other recreational opportunities such as surfing, walks along coastal trails and beautiful beaches, swimming in local lakes, and visits to easily accessible waterfalls and huge trees, such as the cedars of Avatar Grove, the Red Creek Fir and the San Juan and Harris Spruces. Port Renfrew is also known for its amazing ocean and river fishing.
